Monkey Beach Club has been going since 2007 on Avenida Rafael Puig Lluvina, right above Playa de Troya. Its official address is Costa Adeje, although its own contact page gives it as Playa de las Américas: it sits on the line between the two, on the same stretch of seafront as Papagayo and outside the Las Verónicas strip of bars.
If you've come looking for a beach club with sunbeds to rent by the day, this isn't your place. It's a cluster of terrace restaurants and bars, with views of La Gomera and the sunset, that turns into a party venue at weekends in season. Daybeds do exist, but only as an extra at the parties, and the club doesn't publish a price.
On the booking platforms, the only thing that turns up under the Monkey name is a pool party run by another company. Here it is, plus two alternatives, with what you should know about each:
Our picks
1
Pool party on the Cielo rooftop
Daytime party run by Utopia Boat Party, not the club: Mondays and Fridays, over-18s only. The ticket doesn't include a table, seat or daybed, and it's rated 3.8 out of 5 from around 180 reviews.

What's inside: four different spaces
The name covers several venues run by Grupo Monkey, each with its own opening hours. These are the ones listed on its official website; check before you go, because they change with the season.
| Space | What it is | When it's open |
|---|---|---|
| Bésame Mucho | rice dishes, seafood and grills; recommended in the Repsol Guide | Wednesday dinner; Thursday to Saturday lunch and dinner; Sunday lunch |
| Kong | cocktails, sunset and DJ sets; doesn't take bookings | daily, 12:00–01:00 |
| Cielo | rooftop with sushi, tapas, champagne and live music; holds a Repsol "Solete" | Tuesday to Saturday, 19:30–02:00 |
| Playa Club | Mediterranean food and cocktails by day | Tuesday to Saturday, 11:30–18:00 |
The practical bit: Cielo is closed on Sundays and Mondays, and Kong is first come, first served.
Parties and events: the real calendar
The beach parties are on Sundays, and some Saturdays, from May to October, from 18:00 to midnight. The end-of-season party, "El Cierre", is on Sunday 11 October at 18:00. After that there are no Sunday parties until May.
In autumn the programme moves to the evening: "Jaleo Urbano" on Saturdays at 22:30 and "The White Party", from promoter Events Lab, on Thursdays at 22:30, advertised until at least 26 November. Tickets for all events are sold on Fourvenues, which is where each night's prices appear.
What GetYourGuide sells as "Monkey Beach Club"
If you search for Monkey on GetYourGuide, the only product that comes up isn't the club's: it's the Utopia Pool Party, a daytime party run by the company Utopia Boat Party on the Cielo rooftop. It's on Mondays and Fridays from 12:00 to 18:00, over-18s only with an ID card or passport, and costs from around €30.
What you're buying is admission only. It doesn't include a table, seat or daybed: all of that is paid for as an upgrade when you arrive. One customer recently said they paid an extra €30 per person for a table with €30 of drinks each. The product's average rating is 3.8 out of 5 from around 180 reviews, below the island's norm, and several reviews revolve around exactly that: people who expected somewhere to sit.
See Utopia Pool Party datesfrom €30Affiliate link: it costs you nothing extra.
What an afternoon at Monkey costs
The restaurants and Kong work like any other: you pay for what you have. Only the parties have tickets, on Fourvenues, and reserved daybeds or tables are negotiated within each event, with no public rate from the club. The figures doing the rounds on resale sites aren't confirmed by the club, so don't rely on them for your sums.
The useful rule: if you want to sit with your group at a party, ask about the minimum spend per table before you arrive, in writing. That's what saves you a nasty surprise on the bill.
Who it's for, and who it isn't
The good
- Couples and groups who want dinner or cocktails with the sun setting behind La Gomera.
- Stag and hen parties and groups of friends, on a Sunday in season or on autumn nights.
- Anyone looking for something calmer than the Las Verónicas area without leaving Las Américas.
The not so good
- Families with children looking for a sunbed-and-pool day: the pool party is over-18s only.
- Anyone who just wants a sunbed: Playa de Troya itself has sunbed hire on the sand.
- Anyone travelling between November and April in search of Sunday parties: there are none until May.
For nights out with more choice, see our nightlife guide; for groups, the stag and hen guide; and if you're a couple, Tenerife for couples. The operator profile is in Monkey Beach Club official.
Getting there
It's on the Playa de Troya promenade, between Playa de las Américas and the south of Costa Adeje, so from the hotels along that stretch you can walk along the seafront. From Los Cristianos or further afield, a taxi is the easy option. To get back at night, take a licensed one from the rank, not one offered to you in the street.
More about the area in Playa de las Américas, and about the sand at Troya in our beaches guide.
Alternatives you can book online
If the pool party doesn't appeal, there are two fixed-price plans on the same coast: a 4.5-hour boat party with an open bar and DJ, and a spa evening at Aqua Club Termal, in Torviscas.
