For almost everyone, the best flight is from Taucho with pick-up in Costa Adeje: 15–20 minutes in the air, a drop of about 800 m to the beach and €100–115 depending on the company. If you want longer up there, Day Dream's 35–45 minute long flight for €130 is the best value per minute. And before paying €180–200 for a flight "from Teide", ask in writing where it takes off from: the classic take-off is banned and each company is currently doing something different.

If you're staying in the north
A flight at Puerto de la Cruz: in summer the north is usually the most reliable area.
Where you fly from: the real take-offs and landings
Taucho (Adeje), about 760–800 m. This is the take-off for the basic flights in the south. You land on La Enramada beach in La Caleta, at the far end of Costa Adeje. It works almost all year round and its best season runs from September to May.
Ifonche, about 1,000–1,100 m. Higher up above Adeje, it gives flights of 20–30 minutes. It's the "high-mountain flight" sold by several southern companies.
La Corona (Los Realejos), about 750–800 m. The northern take-off, landing at Playa del Socorro. The official tourist board recommends it in autumn, spring and summer. If you're staying in Puerto de la Cruz, it's your natural choice.
The flying areas listed by Webtenerife also include the Güímar hillside and the Fasnia volcano. Across the whole island, flying at night and in airport safety zones is banned.
What about paragliding from Teide?
The new management plan for Teide National Park (Plan Rector de Uso y Gestión, Decree 182/2025, published in the BOC, the Canary Islands' official gazette) bans any kind of aircraft from taking off or landing inside the park and from flying low over it. That includes paragliders.
As a result, the historic Izaña take-off, at about 2,200 m inside the park, is closed. Overfly Tenerife treats it as closed for good and explains that a temporary take-off is used beside the TF-24, in the La Tarta area, just outside the park boundary, from where flights head away towards the coast. That temporary take-off is only on record through what the operator itself says, so confirm it when you book.
The companies aren't all telling the same story:
- Day Dream lists its Izaña flight as "currently unavailable".
- Enminube is still selling a "Teide/Izaña" flight from about 2,200 m for €150, with no warning.
- Kangaroo Tandem sells an "Elite" flight from the national park to Puerto de la Cruz for €195–200.
- Happy Fly advertises an Izaña flight from €180.
None of these flights can fly over the park: they come down the Orotava valley towards Puerto de la Cruz. If an advert promises you'll "fly over Teide National Park", be wary.

| Enminube (north) | Any area | 20–30 min | €150 with HD video |
Three things change the real price:
- Photos and video. Kangaroo includes them in all its rates and takes €5 off if you book online; with almost everyone else they're extra. Compare the total, not just the flight.
- Minutes. Day Dream's long flight (35–45 min for €130) gives you about 20 minutes more in the air than a €100–115 basic flight.
- Groups. Overfly gives 5% off for two people and 10% for three or more. Happy Fly charges Canary Islands residents €70 for the basic flight.
On the platforms, Costa Adeje flights are listed from about €100–110 with pick-up, in line with the direct rates.
If you'd like to take off without a run, Day Dream's paratrike is a motorised paraglider you sit in: 25 minutes for €140.

Taucho flies almost all year, but its best season is September to May; in summer, La Corona is usually the more reliable area. Even so, the decision is made on the day: if the wind isn't safe, nobody flies.
What matters is what happens next, and the terms vary a lot here:
- Overfly and Enminube give you a new date or a full refund if the weather stops you flying.
- Day Dream asks for 72 hours' notice to refund you if you cancel.
- Happy Fly says in its terms that it doesn't refund for weather and asks for 2 days' notice to cancel. That's unusual: read it first.
Book your flight early in your holiday so there's room to move it.
Weight, age and who can fly
| Company | Weight | Age |
|---|---|---|
| Overfly | about 30–100 kg | from about 6 |
| Kangaroo Tandem | 30–110 kg | — |
| Enminube | 35–100 kg | up to 70; under-18s with parental consent |
If you weigh between 100 and 110 kg (roughly 15 st 10 lb to 17 st 5 lb), Kangaroo publishes the highest limit. It isn't an activity for pregnant women or for people with serious mobility problems.
What the flight is like
- Hotel pick-up, free from Costa Adeje with Overfly and Kangaroo, or meet at the meeting point (Happy Fly is on Calle Charfa, on the Las Torres industrial estate in Adeje).
- Drive up to the Taucho or Ifonche take-off and a briefing from the pilot.
- Take-off on foot, in tandem with the pilot, who's at the controls.
- A flight of 15 to 45 minutes depending on the product, heading down towards the coast.
- Landing on La Enramada beach. In total, 2 to 3 hours; in the north, Enminube flies at 09:00, 12:00 and 16:00.
How to choose a company
Tandem paragliding companies are adventure tourism businesses and must be listed on the Canary Islands Government register, with a number starting TA-4. Ask for it or look for it on their website: Overfly (TA-4-0026143.23), Day Dream (TA-4-0003017.23), Kangaroo (TA-4-0003004.23), Enminube (TA-4-0026186.23) and Happy Fly (TA-4-0002643.23) all publish theirs.
"Tenerife Paragliding" isn't a company but a generic name used by several. We compare the ones with verifiable details in depth in paragliding companies.
If you're torn between this and parasailing: parasailing is a parachute towed by a boat, shorter and cheaper, and suitable for young children. If you want views from above without any effort, compare with a helicopter ride: its heliport is on the same Adeje industrial estate as some of the paragliding companies. And for a couples' day out with a bit of adrenaline, see Tenerife for couples.

How much does a paragliding flight cost in Tenerife?
The basic tandem flight from Taucho costs €100–115 with 15–20 minutes in the air. Flights from Ifonche or longer flights cost €120–150, and those advertised as "Teide" €150–200.
Can you paraglide from Teide?
Not from inside the national park: the management plan bans aircraft from taking off or landing in the park, and the Izaña take-off is closed. One company uses a temporary take-off beside the TF-24, outside the park, which is only on record through what the operator says; another lists the flight as unavailable.
Where do you land in the south of Tenerife?
Flights from Taucho land on La Enramada beach in La Caleta, at the far end of Costa Adeje. In the north, flights from La Corona land at Playa del Socorro.
What's the maximum weight for tandem paragliding?
It depends on the company: about 100 kg at Overfly and Enminube, and 110 kg at Kangaroo Tandem, which publishes the highest limit. The minimum is around 30–35 kg.
What happens if it's too windy to fly?
The flight is cancelled. Overfly and Enminube give you a new date or a full refund, but Happy Fly doesn't refund for weather: check the terms before you pay.
Do you need experience to go paragliding?
No. You fly tandem, clipped to a pilot who's at the controls. Overfly takes children from about age 6; it isn't recommended for pregnant women or people with serious mobility problems.
