This policy applies from 2 October 2026 and explains, in plain language, how personal data is processed when you visit tenerife.org.es. It is designed to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish data protection legislation.
Who the controller is
The data controller is the tenerife.org.es team, an independent guide to activities in Tenerife. For any matter relating to your data you can write to info@tenerife.org.es.
What data we process
The site has no user registration, forms, newsletter or comments, and it doesn't sell anything or take payments. That greatly reduces what reaches us:
- Server logs. As with any website, the hosting provider keeps a technical log of each visit: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser and referring page. This also includes clicks on links that go through our
/go/redirects. The logs are used to keep the site running, to detect abuse and to fix errors. We don't use them to build profiles and we don't combine them with other data. - Emails you send us. If you write to info@tenerife.org.es, we process your address, your name if you give it and whatever you tell us, solely to reply to you and, where appropriate, to correct the site.
Fonts are served from our own server, so loading them doesn't send your IP address to third parties.
Cookies and third-party services
The site doesn't set any tracking, analytics or advertising cookies of its own, and it isn't part of any advertising network.
Some pages include booking calendars from GetYourGuide, Tiqets or Headout. These modules load when they appear on screen or are about to; on pages that have one at the top, that happens as soon as you open them. At that point your browser connects directly to the platform, which receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, for which it is responsible. The same happens when you click a booking link and go through to its website: from there on its privacy and cookie policies apply, and we recommend you read them before booking. If you book, your personal and payment details are collected and processed by the platform, not by us.
You can block or delete third-party cookies in your browser settings.
Legal basis
- Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and running (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Emails are processed in order to deal with the request you yourself make to us, also on the basis of our legitimate interest in replying and keeping the information accurate (Article 6(1)(f)).
How long we keep it
Server logs are kept for a limited period, set by the hosting provider for technical and security reasons, and are then deleted. Emails are kept for as long as necessary to resolve your query and for a reasonable time to deal with any possible claims; after that we delete them.
Who else has access to the data
We don't sell or pass on personal data. The only parties involved are the providers we need to keep the site and email working, our hosting provider and our email provider, which process the data on our behalf and with the safeguards required by the GDPR. The booking platforms act as independent controllers of the data they collect in their own modules and websites.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the data we hold about you;
- have it rectified if it is inaccurate;
- have it erased when it is no longer needed;
- object to its processing on grounds relating to your particular situation;
- request restriction of processing and data portability, in the cases provided for by law.
To exercise them, write to info@tenerife.org.es stating which right you wish to exercise. If we need to confirm your identity, we'll ask only for what is strictly necessary. We reply within one month. For data collected by GetYourGuide, Tiqets or Headout, contact the platform concerned.
If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, AEPD) at https://www.aepd.es or with the data protection authority in your country of residence.
Changes to this policy
If the way we process data changes, for example because we add a new service, we'll update this page and the date it applies from. Significant changes will be clearly flagged on the page itself. More about the project in about us and in the affiliate disclosure; the conditions of use are in the terms of use.
